2007 FOOTBALL RULES & INTERPRETATIONS

QUIZ: WEEK #14

RULING FORMAT: Team (A or B) in possession, down and distance, yardline and status of clock if relevant (example: A 1/10 A40, clock on snap). Include other relevant information such as extension of period.

1. PLAY: Fourth and 2 on B's 17. Extra period. First series. A7's field goal is successful. After the score and as the teams are walking away, B92 pushes A7 down and then taunts him on B's 17.

2. PLAY: Third and 7 on B's 32. The score is A24-B24. QB A12's legal forward pass is intercepted on B's 6 by B29 whose momentum carries him into B's end zone. B29 fumbles in B's end zone and the ball rolls out of bounds on B's 2. Time expires in the fourth quarter during the down.

3. PLAY: Second and 9 on B's 49. A24 is running near the sideline on B's 38 when B53 bats the ball from A24's possession. A24 runs a few steps out of bounds, returns inbounds, recovers the ball on B's 29 and advances the ball across B's goal line.

4. PLAY: Third and 4 on B's 8. The score is A27-B28. Ten seconds remain in the fourth quarter. A7's field goal attempt is blocked and simultaneously recovered by A63 and B75 on B's 12. Four seconds remain on the clock.

5. PLAY: Fourth and 10 on B's 20. The score is A22-B28. A19 rolls out and throws a pass to A82 who advances across B's goal line. Time expires in the fourth quarter during the down. Video shows that A19's foot bisected B's 20 (toe beyond line, heel behind line) when he released the pass. Reviewable?

6. PLAY: Third and 7 on B's 27. The score is A24-B27. Team A is in a hurry up offense. Ten seconds remain in the fourth quarter when the down ends on B's 21 with the clock running. Team A immediately sends in the field goal team but the 11th team A player does not enter until six seconds remain on the clock. The Umpire is over the ball as the Referee gives the ready for play signal. B44 replaces B22 and time expires as replaced player B22 is leaving the field.

7. PLAY: Fourth and 10 on A's 33. The score is A19-B20 in the national championship game. A4 attempts a 50-yard field goal. As the ball approaches the upright, the FJ loses the ball in the lights. The FJ then signals no good. Time expires in the fourth quarter during the down. Video shows that the attempt was successful. Reviewable?
